Fire Season is picking up around the State of Montana.  There are several active wildland fires as of today, March 31st.  Below are the current fires as reported by http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/.


Pine Crest FireInitial report to Stillwater County Sheriff’s office occurred approximately 2:00 PM on Saturday, 3/28/15. Local Fire Departments began responding to the fire quickly, as well as Stillwater County Sheriff activated the Emergency Phone Notification System for the evacuation notice in the Pine Crest Subdivision. On 3/29/15, 10:00 am, the Department of Natural Resource and Conservation County Assist Team assumed unified command with Columbus Fire Rescue, with assistance from Park City Volunteer Fire Department. Two structures have been reported lost. One firefighter sustained a minor injury on the fire Saturday during initial attack but is doing well.

West Fork FireThe West Fork Fire is approx. 400 acres as of 8:00PM Saturday. Some pockets of active fire are still burning into the evening with wind gusts still blowing through the fire area. Fire personnel will monitor and patrol the area to put out any hot spots. The fire will transition to a type three team on Sunday.
